FLW – Day 2

All politics are local and Ramie Colson, Jr., may be on his way to proving that all fishing is local, too.

Colson is from Cadiz, Ky., which is practically next door to Lake Barkley and Kentucky Lake – the twin reservoirs that are hosting the FLW Tour tournament that will conclude Sunday with a $100,000 check going to the winner.

Colson knows his local lakes and is proving he knows how to fish them with back-to-back 20-plus pound days.

He’s the leader after Day 2 with a two-day total of 44 pounds 11 ounces. Glenn Chappelear is in second place at 37-14.

Colson enjoyed a moment Friday that most tournament anglers only dream of. He had a five fish limit by 8:15 but the sack only weighed around 10 pounds, which wouldn’t be enough to keep him in serious competition. He moved to a different spot and caught plenty of bass but nothing heavy. Then around midday he returned to some ledge cover and caught a 5 pound bass and a 6 pound 10 ounce bass on back-to-back casts.
