Packing for North Georgia, Lake Lanier and the FLW Outdoors Forrest Wood Cup bass fishing championship, which opens Thursday and concludes Sunday (Saturday for the co-anglers).
The field includes 46 pros and 46 co-anglers. Lanier has suffered from the drought that has gripped much of the region. A couple of Cup qualifiers who were practicing Monday said the lake is about eight feet below normal pool. The lack of water has left much shoreline brush cover high and dry.
Fishing is expected to be difficult but as the pro like to say, “anything can happen in fishing.”
