Spent most of the day fishing off the coast of Biloxi, Miss., onboard the Bo-Joh-La with Capt. John DePineuil www.bojohlacharters.com. Some federal waters are still off limits but state waters are open for recreational and commercial fishing.
We caught some white trout, a few black-tip sharks and some Spanish mackerel; not a bad day considering we were fishing under a cloudless sky following a full moon. The best part of the day was following schools of blood minnows (which we first mistook as an oil sheen).
Oil? Didn’t see any, except for a some stains on the south side of Cat Island, one of the barrier islands.
Going out tomorrow with Capt. Mike Moore of Strictly Business Fishing Charters. Capt. Mike says he’s been catching some big sharks.
Hope to hook one tomorrow.
