World’s Best Bass Fisherman? My vote would go to Kevin VanDam.
The 42-year-old Michigan native won his 17th tournament yesterday with a wire-to-wire victory in the BASS Elite Series four-day tourney on Kentucky Lake, pocketing $100,000 in the process.
VanDam’s four-day total weight of 92 pounds 5 ounces was a little shy of some predictions (a few tournament watchers had predicted that it would take a 100 pound four-day catch to win) but enough to best second place finisher Edwin Evers by more than seven pounds.
