I’ll decode the headline: Field & Stream’s Total Outdoorsman Challenge is coming to a Bass Pro Shop near you.
If you think you’re a skilled outdoorsman – maybe the best outdoorsman in the land – and would like some competition to prove it – check out your nearest Bass Pro Shop April 17 or 18. It’s likely to be hosting a TOC qualifying event.
Forty-five BPS stores will be participating. Hours of competition will be 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. local time. Register on site or on line at www.toc.fieldandstream.com. The F&S TOC website also has all the information you need about the program.
It’s free to enter and costs nothing to participate. Disciplines tested in the qualifying round include air rifle, archery and baitcasting. The top 200 qualifiers will advance to regional competition at four locations in June. Sixteen outdoorsmen from the regional round will move on to the championship Sept. 9-11 at the Dogwood Nature Park near the BPS world headquarters near Springfield, Mo.
The champion will take home $25,000 and, probably most importantly, the F&S Total Outdoorsman trophy and title.
